I was always read to when I was growing up and I never got to read on my own as much. When I read things on my own I didn't fully understand what I was reading until I got a second opinion. Reading out of a text book is not the best way for me to learn but an alternative way it is be read to or to watch a video. Social media and technology has had such an impact on my life for the better and the worst. As I was growing up, so was the world of technology. I don't like the way teachers are starting to do everything online on some sort of device, I get writing an essay on the computer is a good idea, but not handing things in or things like that.
Book Review of "The Art of Racing In The Rain"
The book I read was “The Art of Racing In The Rain”. The author of the story Garth Stein, It is a fiction novel. This book is about a family and a dog who have lots of struggles. The family pet narrates the story.
I don't think there is much moral to the story other then telling the truth. There were lots of parts of the story that i liked but there were also some that I didn't like. In the beginning of the story it was very slow but what book isn't. I liked how the dog tells the story. If the dog didn't tell the story i think the book would be the same.
I rate this novel a 4 out of 5 because It was boring at some points but the majority of the time it kept me happily reading. I don't find books that keep me reading very often so I think it was a good read. I think this book targets teenages rather then adults. I would not recommend it to any children under the age of 13. It is definitely a mature read. I would read it again.
